Check-in and ID
Bakirkoy Apart Hotel: Check-In Times and ID Rules
At our apart hotel in Bakırköy (Bakirkoy), check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is until 11:00. Every guest needs a passport at check-in; Turkish citizens can also use a T.C. identity card. This is because in Türkiye, accommodation providers are legally required to register every guest’s identity details.
These two rules look simple, but they are among the topics we are asked about most. Below, we explain what you need to know about early arrival, late check-out, passports and payment, step by step.
Times at a glance
| Item | Rule |
|---|---|
| Check-in | From 14:00 |
| Check-out | By 11:00 |
| Early check-in | Subject to availability; ask in advance |
| Late check-out | Subject to availability; ask in advance |
| Late-night arrival | Planned in advance with notice |
If you arrive early
Your apartment is ready from 14:00. If you arrive on a morning flight or a night bus and want to get in earlier, early check-in depends on availability. Please tell us your arrival time when you book and let us know your request in advance. A short message before you travel on the day of arrival is also worth sending to check again.
If you need to wait, it is easy to spend the time nearby: Bakırköy Freedom Square (Özgürlük Meydanı) is 6 minutes away, and cafés and restaurants are clustered around it. Ask us in the same message what you can do with your luggage. On a business trip with a morning arrival, scheduling your first meeting for the afternoon saves you from walking around with your suitcase before you can enter the apartment.
Late check-out
For guests with an evening flight or a last meeting that finishes in the afternoon, 11:00 can feel early. Late check-out is also subject to availability and must be requested in advance. If possible, send your request before the day of check-out; if the apartment is being prepared for another guest that day, early notice makes it easier to find a solution.
When calculating your journey time to the airport, allow 40–70 minutes by car for Istanbul Airport (IST) and 60–90 minutes for Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW).
Passports: who needs what?
In Türkiye, accommodation providers are legally required to register every guest’s identity details. This applies not only to the person who books the apartment but to every guest staying in it.
- Foreign guests: Passport.
- Turkish citizens: T.C. identity card or passport.
- If you plan to use another document: Ask before you book whether it is accepted.
- If you are travelling with children: Ask during booking which document is required for children.
If two colleagues share a One-bedroom apartment (1+1) or a team of four or five shares a Two-bedroom apartment (2+1), everyone must keep their own passport with them. If part of the group is arriving later, tell us their arrival time in advance too.
Booking confirmation and payment
- To book, call us or send a WhatsApp message; just include your dates and the number of guests.
- We give you the current price and availability during the conversation, and confirm the reservation in a written message.
- Cancellation and change conditions are sent to you in writing when you book; keep that message until your stay is over.
- You can pay in cash, by bank transfer/EFT or by credit card on site; you do not need to share your card details online.
For details, see the reservation page.
Extending or shortening your stay
If your work schedule changes and you need one more night, ask as early as possible; an extension depends on availability for those dates. If you need to shorten your stay or change your dates, the cancellation and change conditions we sent you in writing when you booked apply. In either case, simply call us or write on WhatsApp; we will confirm the change in writing again.
A short checklist before check-in
- Do you have the written confirmation message on your phone?
- Do you have a passport for every guest? Turkish citizens can also use a T.C. identity card.
- Have you shared your estimated arrival time?
- If you want early check-in or late check-out, have you asked in advance?
- Address: Zeytinlik neighbourhood, Fazılpaşa Sokak No:4, Bakırköy.
Tips for check-out day
On the morning of check-out, packing before the last minute makes the day easier, especially for guests with an early meeting. Prepare your things the night before; chargers and cables left in sockets are the items most often forgotten. The building has a lift, so taking your suitcases down is easy. If you are leaving by Marmaray, allow 8 minutes to walk to the station.
If you will arrive after midnight, take a look at our late arrival guide too. If you have a special situation regarding check-in or check-out times, contact us on 0532 655 43 32; our line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can write to us in English on WhatsApp.
